Jeffrey Eugenides

The Marriage Plot (Farrar, Straus, & Giroux)

We're thrilled to announce that Jeffrey Eugenides, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Middlesex and The Virgin Suicides, will be coming to Skylight to read and sign his new novel, The Marriage Plot!

Like all our in-store events, this reading is free and open to the public.  But we're expecting a big crowd, so we have a few rules in place to keep the book signing portion of the event running smoothly:

  • To get a ticket to the signing line, just buy a copy of The Marriage Plot at Skylight Books. The book goes on sale on October 11.
  • Members of our Friends With Benefits program get priority access to the signing line. Show your membership card when you buy your book and we'll give you a special ticket. Your line goes first!
  • Mr. Eugenides will sign up to two copies of his previous books if they are purchased at the event. Due to time constraints, he will not be able to sign more than two copies of his prior books (this also means you won't be able to go through the line multiple times to get all your backlist copies signed in batches of two.  It's a strict limit.) Please leave extra copies at home.

Your cooperation is, as always, much appreciated!

If you are unable to attend but would like a book signed, give us a call!  We can take your order over the phone.  Also feel free to call us with any questions -- (323) 660-1175.

Jeffrey Eugenides was born in Detroit and attended Brown and Stanford Universities. His first novel, The Virgin Suicides, was published by FSG to great acclaim in 1993, and he has received numerous awards for his work. In 2003, Eugenides received the Pulitzer Prize for his novel Middlesex (FSG, 2002), which was also a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, and France’s Prix Médicis.
